The words behind the moment
I Let You Down
A letter from Nina
I've replayed that moment in my head a thousand times, and each replay only deepens my regret. There is no version of this story where I don't carry the weight of what I did to you. I want you to know that I'm not writing this to make myself feel better or to rush your healing.
I'm writing because you deserve to hear me say it plainly, without deflection or excuse. What I did was wrong, and the hurt I caused you was entirely my fault. I don't expect forgiveness to come easily or quickly, but I hope you'll believe that I am genuinely changed by this.
